Don't know how many of you follow Ami's blog ~ Through the Eyes of a Quilter... her post from Sunday shares some noteable, amazing, wonderful, truly outstanding news. Her goal has been to take 1,000 Priority Quilts to the International Quilt Festival in Houston and this year she will! You are all doing such a fabulous job! As someone who is now care taking my own mother (with moderately advanced Alzheimer's, who is also legally blind and diabetic) I can tell you that the monies that have gone towards discovering how the genetics are layed down(and then present in later life) is a fascinating one. Rushing back up to Douglas, Alaska to care for her after she went into a coma with blood sugar at a critical number of 22, and to also help my almost 92 year old father (who has Shingles) has been my own way of creating the fabric of Love and Hope as my quilt top lays waiting on the cutting board in Salem.
